Resultats de la 1a convocatòria d’IAPP

Some 103 proposals were submitted in response to the first Marie Curie Industry-Academia Partnerships and Pathways Fellowships (IAPP) call of the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7), which closed on 31 May. Having passed the first phase of evaluation, 41 project proposals will now be put forward for a second round of evaluation. The projects most eligible for funding will be those that involve the transfer of technology and know-how between industry and the academia.

With a total budget of €38.5 million, the call seeks to open and foster dynamic pathways between public research organisations and private commercial enterprises, including in particular small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs).

Resultats 1a fase de les Starting Grants (ERC)

El Consell Europeu de Recerca (ERC) ha finalitzat la primera fase de l’avaluació de les “Starting Grants”. De les 9167 propostes rebudes, 559 han estat seleccionades per a la segona fase del procés d’avaluació. Fa pocs dies, els candidats seleccionats van rebre les cartes d’acceptació corresponnets, on se’ls convida a enviar les propostes completes abans del 17 de setembre. Els candidats que no han estat seleccionats en aquesta primera fase rebran una carta, així com l’informe de l’avaluació, a principis d’agost.

Participació de Suïssa a l’FP7

Les institucions, empreses, i altres entitats suïsses podran participar sense cap restricció en el 7è Programa Marc, després de la signatura d’un acord de cooperació científica entre Suïssa i la Unió Europea. Aquest acord permetrà que els científics suïssos puguin participar en igualtat de condicions que els de la UE en totes les convocatòries del 7è Programa Marc, incloent-hi les que ja s’han obert des de començaments d’any (anteriors a la signatura de l’acord).

Nova JTI de Nanoelectrònica

La Comissió Europea ha encetat una nova Iniciativa Tecnològica Conjunta (Joint Technology Initiative, JTI) dedicada a la Nanoelectrònica. Es pretén que aquesta nova JTI esdevingui la plataforma per al desenvolupament i introducció de nous productes i serveis en un ampli ventall d’àrees, incloent-hi l’electrònica de consum, la indústria de l’automòbil, la salut i la gestió mediambiental.

La iniciativa, anomenada ENIAC (European Nanoelectronics Initiative Advisory Council) disposarà d’un pressupost de 3000 M€. S’espera que el 60% d’aquest pressupost s’obtingui de la indústria, mentre que la resta serà proporcionat per la Comissió Europea i els estats que participen en el projecte.

ERC Statement on the 2007 Starting Grant competition

The European Research Council (ERC) has provided further information on the 9,167 applications received for the ERC’s first round of grants, the Starting Grants for independent researchers.

In April the ERC’s Scientific Council announced how many applications had been received, and the figure of 9,167 was much higher than many were expecting. Now the Scientific Council has given details of how many of the applications address each of the three domains outlined in the call for proposals, which countries the applications have come from, and how many people have applied to be a member of the evaluation panels charged with reviewing the proposals.
